The Mohun Bagan Athletic Club is a football club of Calcutta. Founded 15 August 1889, is the oldest club in the whole of Asia. The team has won three times in the National Football League the name by which it was known the Indian football championship between 1996 and 2007 in 1998, in 2000 and in 2002. It currently plays the First Division of the new Indian league, the I-League. In addition, the disputed Calcutta Football League, an event reserved for the formations of the metropolis, which is set 27 times.

Typically this event is held in the palace of Agri Horticultural Society, in the south-west of Kolkata, during the first of January.
