Kalakand is a popular Indian sweet reputed for its exquisite taste, made out of solidified, sweetened milk and cottage cheese. It is a very popular sweetmeat in Bengal. As is the case in almost all Asian cuisines, even in India there is a strict separation of the flow unlike using a western, which includes appetizers, dishes, etc, everything is served on the board of India at the same time, including desserts.

The Birla Planetarium of Kolkata is an educational museum building with a dome, within which a planetarium projects the image of the heavenly bodies and their movements in the sky. Birla Planetarium is the largest planetarium in Asia and the second in the world. It was inaugurated in 1963 by the Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru. A great place for children to learn about the space in a fun, MP Birla Planetarium is the largest of its kind in India. Along with the models of the solar system, has a series of films every day that explains the mysteries of space so children can understand.

Netaji Subhash chandra Bose born in a refined Bengali family passed his BA in Philosophy from the Presidency College in Calcutta and played a major role in enlightening the students and youths. Known as Netaji Leader, Bose was President of the Indian Congress Party and a supporter of the independence of India from the British Raj. He shared the ideas of independence of Mahatma Gandhi but not his methods of nonviolent struggle.

Patishapta are pancakes with coconut filling and is the most popular among all pithas prepared during Makar Sankranti, which is actually a rice flour crepe with coconut and jaggery fillings. Sometimes, is added a drop of milk to soften the dough. After mixing all the dough is put in a container wrapped in a cloth, and every 20-30 minutes must be kneaded, causing a sort of natural leavening takes place thanks to the pressure of carbonated water which replaces the yeast.
