Kheer: Rice Pudding


The Kheer is a traditional delicious, easy to digest dessert made ​​of rice cooked in milk and flavored with spices and dry fruits like cardamom and pistachios which works great as a comfort food for rainy evenings. The Kheer is a typical dessert from India resembling the popular English rice pudding. Delicate and very fragrant, it is also suitable for closing a dinner and is very easy to prepare at home. For a low calorie version of Kheer just put less sugar or just avoid it, why not adding maybe just a little honey towards the end, the rest is really a sweet and nutritious for anything heavy.
