Losar is the New Year and one of the most interesting festivals of the Buddhists. The trip takes in the Kathmandu valley during the celebrations of Losar, the Tibetan New Year, offering the opportunity to come into contact with a strong fascinating cultural world. In the Kathmandu valley lies a large community of Buddhists, including a large group of Tibetan refugees, who for the Losar organized countless celebrations and interesting events to which it is easy to participate and be welcome, fully enjoying the joviality and benevolence expressed by these people.


Around the great Stupa at Bodnath Swayambu and even more, every monastery opens the doors of the assemblies of the monks, often presided over by important Lama, and the whole community participates in the celebrations. Many of the largest monasteries organize events ritual dances performed with masks and costumes, including those of the "Red Monastery" of Sechen that are of excellent quality. For the feast of Lhabsol, the offer of the smoke produced from herbs and incenses that concludes the Losar, from the first light of dawn thousands of people start circumambulation of the sacred Stupa, and the air vibrates with the sound of the mantra.
